Flying into Hamilton Island you get an insane view of the bright blue ocean lapping up onto the glowing white sand of the islands below. Last year, it was where I spent a week with the family, sailing amongst the 74 Whitsunday Islands.

There’s something about being on the water, away from the hustle and bustle of the land. Everyday would start diving head first into the ocean, while afternoons were spent pulling up to snorkel different parts of the Southern Great Barrier Reef, and the biggest worry was choosing which bit of paradise to anchor down for the night.

Everyone dreams to jump onto that long-haul flight overseas, but we’ve got some seriously insane spots in Australia that shouldn’t go unconsidered.
The Whitsunday Islands is one of them.
